Midwest Speech and Language Days (MSLD) is a two-day meeting that continues the tradition of Illinois Speech Day and the Midwest Computational Linguistics Colloquium. Presenters and attendees from all Midwest universities and research institutions are invited. The goal is to increase awareness of speech and language research going on in the region and to foster collaboration among sites.

Location

MSLD 2018 will be held at the McKenna Conference Center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame near South Bend, Indiana. Please note that Notre Dame is in the Eastern Time Zone.

By plane
  • to South Bend Airport (SBN), followed by a 10 minute drive to Notre Dame
  • to Chicago O'Hare or Midway Airport, followed by a 2–3 hour drive or bus ride to Notre Dame
By train

from downtown Chicago via the South Shore Line to South Bend Airport (2.5 hours), followed by a 10 minute drive to Notre Dame.

Parking
On the days of the conference, you can park in Lot C1 or any C lot, and a permit or payment should not be needed. (Parking in the visitor pay lot will require payment.) There is a shuttle between the parking lots and McKenna Conference Center. A map of parking lots and the shuttle route is shown below:
